My summer wouldn't be complete without seeing Stephanie, considering we've spent the past 8 summers together. We both get teary eyed just thinking about not being together this summer. Thankfully Stephanie planned a last minute trip (and by last minute I mean Friday afternoon) to come visit me. One thing I love about having visitors is I get to do all the touristy things like shopping, taking a boat cruise tour and eating at the Cheesecake factory! Did you guys know that there are locks in the Chicago River? I don't remember the exact reason why...something about because a long time ago the city reversed the flow of the river so the dirty water wasn't flowing into Lake MI since that is where their drinking water comes from. Maybe Holland and Grand Haven could try this? Since the water from the lake was then flowing inland and eventually to the Mississippi River, other states got mad because they thought Chicago was taking more than their share of lake water. It was kind of fun, even though we only rose about 2 feet.
