The view of downtown from my old street
Now that I've got that out of the way, I loved being back in the city for the weekend. Friday we were Cubs fans for the day. We got some great seats right by the Cubs dugout in the 2nd row. We sat right behind Tom Ricketts, whose family recently purchased the Cubs from the Chicago Tribune.
Friday morning we ate at an amazing breakfast place, Orange Contemporary Brunch With a Peel. There was an Orange by my old apartment but it was always so lined up on the weekends I never got a chance to try it. I had the French Toast Kebob with some fresh squeezed pineapple-apple juice. We also had an order of fruishi, fresh fruit and sticky rice made to look like sushi...it was delicious!

French Toast Kebob: Coconut french toast with two skewers of coconut french toast, pineapple, strawberries, honey and a side of coconut mango salad.
Our trip wouldn't have been complete without a stop at Gino's for pizza, Wow Bao for some hot asian buns and last but not least Lincoln Park Zoo!
I think you might be a tad bit spoiled!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dad!!! (spoiled and lucky) Did you bring me some of those good coconut cream bun things???? Sounds like you had a great weekend!!!

Hey now...I had a coupon for Gino's and the zoo was free!! Yes, I did bring you some coconut custard buns. If you come visit you can have some. Have hot asian buns replaced Garret's popcorn?
