Tis The Season For Farmers Markets!

I headed to the Fulton Street Farmer's Market this morning. This was my first visit to this market and there were a lot of great vendors! I bought some strawberries that were so sweet and delicious and some sugar snap peas. My two favorite purchases were my basil plants and goats milk cheddar cheese. I can't wait to make my own pesto with my own basil! I also plan to make some goat cheese and marinara, with my homemade sauce of course! I have to say, there weren't as many samples as I was hoping for...when I lived in Chicago I would visit the farmers market in Daley Plaza downtown on my lunch hour and just have samples for lunch! I bought my goat cheese from this older couple who provided samples...I think it's a great marketing tool and they should be rewarded :) The Fulton Market was also a bit crowded, it's set up like the Holland market but much more narrow. Oh well, I guess when you live in the city you can't be picky! Although one of my favorites, Chicago Green City Market, was located in Lincoln Park which was perfect for casual strolling and sampling :)

My first attempt at urban gardening...wish me luck!

I'm interning at CASA this summer and we had a fundraiser this past week. It was hosted at the Goei Center, which is part of Eastern Floral and they supplied us with these cute little bouquets of tulips!

Up Next: My first antiquing project!
