Date Night Peach Crisp

I'm on my second batch of peach crisp this week. I made some yesterday to take to my grandpa and grandma and had left over topping so I made some more today and decided to document it :) I mentioned to my grandparents that I bought my peaches from the Fulton Street Farmers Market, and my grandpa told me he used to come all the way from Zeeland to sell veggies at the same market back when he was 9 years old, so around 1930!!

I used my Aunt Deb's recipe for apple crisp and substituted peaches.

Here's the recipe adjusted for "Date Night Peach Crisp":

Put into small round dish (mine was 16 oz, and when I say "mine" I mean the one I "borrowed" from my mom) thanks mom! :)
2 peaches, peeled and pitted
1 tbs. water
sprinkle on cinnamon and sugar to taste - between 1/2 tsp. and 1 tsp. I have a shaker full of cinnamon and sugar so I just give it a few good shakes (a shaker of cinnamon and sugar is so handy!)

Crust: makes enough for 2 crisps, in case you have 2 dates!
Mix with fork until crumbly:
1 C. flour
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
Sprinkle top with more cinnamon and sugar

Bake for 30 min. at 350 degrees!

Shout out to my grandma Huyser for crocheting my cute hot pad!

  1. Mmmm, that looks so good! I've had blueberry crisp this summer, but not peach yet. I think I will try your recipe this weekend.
